Arlene,

I have also noted that those features are missing and/or in need of improvement. I hope to hear back soon on a time table on when we might see the return of the events feature and other "tweaks" to the site.

In the meantime, thanks for setting up the Treasure Coast group!

Take care,

To date these are the geographically-oriented groups listed in the groups section:

Treasure Coast Community Info (Port St. Lucie/Vero Beach-area, Florida)

We Bark for the Buckeyes (Ohio general)

Knoxville-Area WagNBraggers (Knoxville, TN)

Tennessee WagNBraggers (Tennessee general)

Hello WagNBraggers,

I've been thinking that it would be nice if we had the opportunity to network in a variety of different ways here on WagNBrag. One thing I think would be nice is if we had the opportunity to communicate more directly with fellow WagNBraggers in our immediate area.

This could be helpful in organizing play dates at the dog park, getting recommendations on local animal services, keeping an eye on relevant legislation in your area, publicizing rescue events, and other such topics.

To get the ball rolling, I've started two new groups in the groups section relating to my area: Knoxville WagNBraggers and Tennessee WagNBraggers.

What do you think? Would these sorts of groups be helpful to you? Would you like to start one for your area?

Take care,

I think It would be a good idea to have a local group in and around my home town. I have noticed in the last few days of serveral dacshunds in my home town out and about with their owners. I think that getting even different types of dog groups together would be great but have not a clue on how to do this. Do you have any suggestions?

Cindy,

I agree with you that it would be wonderful. Here's my recommendation. First, let's create a WagNBrag group for your town/region. I am assuming (based on your profile) that it would be Cedar Rapids, Iowa?

You can create a new online WagNBrag group by clicking on the "Groups" link in the upper right corner of the screen. You will see a button on the new screen for "Create New Group" click there and follow the additional links to get everything going. (If you have any questions or troubles, you can send me a message directly through my profile page and I'll be happy to help.)

From there, it's a matter of recruiting new members to join your group. You can start by looking for existing WagNBrag members in your area. Invite them to join the group. Then, when you come across opportunities to meet other pet owners in your area, tell them about WagNBrag.com and invite them to join and to join your group. Word of mouth has always been the best way to get folks involved in something like this. Start with the people you know and ask them to participate. If you can help provide them with an entertaining, welcoming, and useful environment here at WagNBrag, you'll soon find they are inviting folks they know to join, too.

Pretty soon, you'll be using your WagNBrag group to announce and plan local get-togethers, recruit volunteers for area rescue events, spreading the word about lost pets, and more.

I'm happy to help you get started. Send me a message via my profile page and I'll help as much as I can.

Good luck!

Hi there,

The old WNB had an "events" tab. From there we were able to search for activities by geographic location, dates, and type of event. I thought there were plans to bring this feature back? Also the old WNB made it easier to search for groups. there were options to search groups by animal, breed, location, etc. this new format doesn't provide that. These are two features that I personally found quite useful and would like to see them back if possible.

FYI: I did create a group for WNB members in the Treasure Coast are of Florida (from Vero Beach to Stuart). If you would like to join, type "treasure coast" in the search field under groups and it will take you to that group page.
