I guess since Gibson is a celebrity it is assumed they will do the chemo and everything it takes to get him better. I just wonder how much money it is going to cost, I don't have dog insurance, it HAS to be expensive.

So where is the line with medical bills for your animals? I know we don't like to put a price on our dogs, but vets do. Would you foot the bill for chemo or would you have to let them go?

Our limit would be about a grand. After that it would drastically hurt. Sounds awful. Could no way afford chemo.!

My dog was hit by a car once. I was a single mom with a $700.00/month mortgage, making about $8.00/hour. The surgery would have cost $1200.00, plus months of additional follow up care and rehab. I had to opt for euthanasia. Thank God my mother refused to see my beautiful boy die; she sent me the cash for the surgery. If it wasn't for her, I would have lost the best dog in the world.
Sometimes there are extenuating circumstances that dictate your life's choices.

I had to put a dog down a couple years ago. It broke my heart, but I didn't have an option, there was no way I could afford to fix her and it was better that she not suffer because of my pocketbook.
I still can't bring myself to get another dog. I don't know if I could go through losing another one.
