For a Chihuahua a good food would be one that is small kibble, chicken, oatmeal, brown rice, veggies (sweet potato) and fruits.

Innova is a good food and they have small breed kibble.

Kibbles N' Bits is a low quality food that causes many health problems in my opinion. The clinic I occassionaly work at now sees lots of conditions caused by that food and a few others. Better food costs more at point of purchase but you spend less, because they eat less, poop less, shed less, and have overall better health.

To compare any food you choice to a better food see www.naturapet.com tools and resources.!

Good Luck

I have two small kibble favorites that I go back and forth with...

Nutro Natural Balance... I use adult, senior, and puppy formulas depending on which of my dogs we are talking about... I really like the Lamb and Rice formulas but, switch it up with the beef on occassion and the Chicken is also a favorite. It has a really high Nutritional Content and minimal fillers so my dogs eat less, poop less (and it stinks less) and they are very healthy... I also occasionally get the Ultra formulas that have Salmon and brown rice as a treat for my pups.

The other brand I think is great is Dick Van Patton's Natural Balance Formulas... I switch these up too as I feel that no one dog food has all of the nutrients needed for a healthy body...

There are other brands of high quality but, I do not use them so I can't tell you about my experience with them.

Stay with a high quality brand and do your research about dog nutrition... it is worth a little extra money to save you from high vet bills caused by mal-nutrition... and I do not really like Science Diet, Iams, and Eukanuba is only a little better than them... A lot of vets reccomend these foods as these companies pay for the nutrition program as some veterinary colleges... so they are taught by the instructors and guest speakers that these products are the best... I do not agree, in my experience with Chihuahuas.

Good Luck Researching... There is a sea of info available out there... I know it is confusing but, it's worth it for these tiny babies *smiles*
