He is at the fun puppy stage where he jumps up on people. How do I get him to stop? And I don't mean smacking him on the nose everytime he does it. There has to be another way.
Thank you all

I've tried a few things that seem to work. With my two year old we stuck our knees out when she did it, didn't hit her with them or anything but just stuck our knees kind of in her chest and that stopped her pretty fast. Also sometimes if you just turn around and don't face them that seems to work too--ignoring. Otherwise we just say down and they have learned that they don't jump up on people unless they're asked....You could do that too, train them to jump up and have a signal so that they know when it's ok...my two year old I pat my chest and say "Give me a hug" and she will, but she knows that unless someone pats on their chest that way that she isn't allowed to jump. Hope this helps!
