I saw on a news report today that putting a couple drops of Lavender oil in your dogs bedding, and behind their ears might calm them if they are anxious! Thunderstorms, being left alone, fireworks. It can't hurt to try!
I've used lavender scents with my new moms and their puppies by using inscence or a lavender spray and it definitely works to keep them calm. I spray it on my pillows if I'm having a hard time going to sleep and it works for me too. I had never thought to use it for anxiety separation thou because I don't deal with that problem very often. Maybe it's because I use it with the puppies. Plus it makes their room smell better.
