Electric Fencing

I am looking at electrical fencing. I found one where you plug it in to an outlet in your house and it gives the dog a 90 foot circle to maneuver in.

Is it hard to train dogs to stay in them? The wife thinks it is mean.

Does anyone have the one that plugs in? I would love to avoid digging and placing wire.

My boyfriend bought one of those that plug in to avoid digging up the yard. However, when you really consider the range, it's not that much for the dog to really move around, in my opinion. However, I do live in the country surrounded by fiields and my dog loves to run and run. For someone who lives in an urban area, I think that would be okay. As far as it being mean, I would tell your wife that a little shock to get their attentionit is nicer than getting hit by a car.
