Bad Rap, Great Dog.

When I was a kid we got a chow chow. When we took him to obedience school and the woman realized there were small kids in the house she freaked! Told my parents to buy a kennel and keep him in there if we were in the house.

After we ignored her we grew up with a great dog! He never did anything half way aggressive towards us. It bugs me to hear people saying a dog is a bad dog based only on what they have "heard" about a breed.

He was a great guard dog though, no one was even allowed on our porch... good dog.

i agree that breeds should not be stereotyped because of hearsay. consistent training and teaching children proper manners around dogs will avoid most incidents. keeping a dog crated or tied in the yard will only exacerbate frusration and aggressive behaviors especially if kids are running past doing what they d
