Hey, do Miniature Dachshunds need those little puppy coats to go outside with? I mean, my Mini Doxie named Heidi is always FREEZING COLD outside in the morning when she uses the bathroom. Also, do you think that Pedi Paws will work well for a Doxie? The groomers that cut her nails didn't cut her nails low enough. Plus, I heard that Pedi Paws painlessly rub down the nails, you know, like a regular nail file.

Hello DachshundLover,
As far as the coat goes... use your best judgement... if you think your baby is cold and you want her to wear a jacket or sweater.. I think that is fine but, she may still act cold this time of year due to the severe change in temperature when stepping from the warm inside to the brutality outside. My Chihuahuas have taken to prefering the litter box over the doggie door this time a year, LOL!

The Pedi Paws? Well I do like it for taking off the excess with my Chihuahuas (it works excellently for my Golden) but, it doesn't do the greatest job of putting a correct angle on my tiny kids. I have to do some touch up on most of my Chihuahuas but, it does take away a lot of the squeezing pressure that some dogs experience when their nails are trimmed. My dogs seem to relax more with the Pedi Paws than for clippers (although it did take a couple of times to get them used to the idea of a motor running near their feet.) On a score of 1 - 10 ??? I give the Pedi Paws product about an 8.5.

Hope that helps *smiles*

We use sweaters for our two doxies if needed. We do have to watch that they don't get tangled up in them.

I like Peticure. It costs more, $50.00 for Peticure, $20.00 for Pedi Paws, but I can recharge my Peticure and use with or with the cord. Pedi Paws uses batteries. I would not like having to keep buying batteries. Peticure also has different size of holes for different size nails. Pedi Paws has one hole that could take off more nail then you meant.

Hello!!

My sister has a boxer and I have two APBTs. She bought the PediPaws and to be honest I wasn't impressed. The noise scared Champ (my sister's boxer) and also when I tried it on my APBT pup it made a very loud noise and it felt like I was ripping his nail off, also it still seemed to splinter the nail, ever since then I've been scared to try it again. Maybe I'm doing something wrong with it? Hope it works out for you!!

Amabsher, that is some very nice advice. Maybe I will buy Heidi (my dachshund) a puppy coat. But now my mom bought Pedi Paws for her....

I have a mini dox and she has a sweater that she wears outside and she seems to like it even inside lol. I don't let her wear it in the house tho because I am afraid she will get sick. She also wears it in the car when we go out and seems to enjoy it.
Can't tell you anything about the pedi paws as I haven't got her one yet.
