As the holiday season approaches, it's a traditional time for family-oriented movies to make their debut. That usually means there will be a few animal or pet-themed movies to see. I decided to explore the internet to find out which movies WagNBraggers might be lining up to see at the local cineplex this winter. Here's a quick listing of some of the movies I've found. Scheduled opening dates are subject to change.

Are you planning to see any of these? Tell us about the upcoming releases that have you looking forward to a night at the movies.

Bolt -- An animated Disney release about a dog who is the star of a television action series. He doesn't know it's a tv show, however, and when a mix-up puts him out on the street he thinks he's living a real life adventure. Of course, he'll need some sidekicks to help him out and he recruits an abandoned housecat and a runaway pet hamster to help him. (Scheduled to open November 21)

Marley & Me -- based on the best selling non-fiction book about a newlywed couple and their untrainable Labrador retriever Marley. Stars Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston. (Scheduled to open December 26)

Hotel for Dogs -- Two orphaned teens move in with their aunt (Lisa Kudrow) and try to rescue a stray dog. Their aunt is allergic to dogs, so the teens make use of an abandoned house next door and end up hosting more and more dogs while trying to keep their impromptu animal shelter a secret from their aunt and authorities. Early reviews say it is a comedy with some dark themes at times and will likely have a PG rating. (Scheduled to open January 9)

So, which of these, if any are you looking forward to seeing?

I hope you'll come back to the Water Bowl Gossip section of WagNBrag to share your reviews of these films after you've seen them!

I tried to find out if Marley and me is Audio described for people who are blind and open captioned for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. If anyone can help me find out, that would be great. Thank you, Lorre and Sunshine

Lorre,

You'll probably need to contact theaters directly in your area about this. You might also check www.fandango.com.

You can enter your ZIP code in Fandango's search box and it will provide a listing of movie theaters in your area with showtimes for all films showing at those theaters. Movies offering open captioned and audio described performances are listed.

I couldn't find a good way to search specifically for open captioning and audio described, but that might give you a start in the right direction.

Take care,
