Last Thursday my golden retriever, Bailey became heaven's newest angel when she unexpectedly succumbed to cancer. She showed no signs other than some general slowing, which we had attributed to her age (10 years). She was a good friend, loving companion and extremely gentle with our children. As a family we have decided to honor her life by raising another puppy from her lineage somewhere down the road. We'll never replace Bailey, but will hopefully love a new puppy who shares her bloodline just as well.

My very first dog was an Alaskan Malamute, Holly who I loved very much and can still cause me to well up thinking of her. She'll always hold a special place in my heart. By far, however, Bailey was the sweetest dog my family ever owned and she will be missed tremendously.
