Your Dog Can Help A Child Read

Have you ever noticed that a dog can bring instant comfort and even boost your confidence? A dog can be a great ice breaker, conversation starter, and can even help your kid learn to read. How you ask? Well, lets look.

If a child is stuggling to read they are shy, self conscious and afraid to make mistakes. Loving adults, both teachers and parents can get frustrated no matter how much they may not want to. A child can feel that and it only further deepens their uneasyness about reading.

But if you put a child in a room with a dog and have the child read to the dog there is no pressure. No one is judging, no one is watching. You just have this warm, comfortable quiet friend who will wait patiently while you sound out the words and tell him a story.

Reading programs like this are popping up all over the country in libraries and classrooms.
