I normally don't do stories about animal abuse. It happens, we all know it happens and it makes us all pretty mad. This story however, has pushed me over the top in the anger issue and I figured since he wasn't being punished by our judicial system I would do what I could to let the world know what scum he is.

Fair warning here though, it is pretty ugly. If you are sensitive to this issue you might want to just take my word for it and move on. Or, if your post partum, just adopted a stray, or having a day where you cry easy you might want to wait a while and come back.

This is Tyler Castellano, 18. 18 I said, that means he is an adult. He was 18 when he did it so there is no letting him off the hook easy because he is a minor here. Him and his friend, who is 17 so I don't have a name and/or a picture which is good in a way because I am pretty sure if I had it I would have posted it thus breaking some kind of law of some sorts and I might get in trouble. Anyway, they are the cause of this story.

You have a 17 and an 18 year old with nothing to do just standing outside. They could have been in school, or doing homework, or if they had a job they could have been there. They could have been volunteering their time doing something productive in their communities. Nope. Instead you have these 2 grown men standing around doing nothing, but they had a dog with them. A stray dog wanders by.

They think the pit bull was 4 years old. She obviously was not a vicious dog. You will see as this story goes on that this dog was most definitely NOT a vicious dog. They boys say that when the dog came over the two dogs got into a minor scuffle that they were able to break up.

My first problem? I am not an idiot. I am tired of people believing what people tell them without looking around them and thinking for themselves. Who here has heard of a pit bull in a fight that was minor? No where is it mentioned there was any damage to either dog. I have looked. Believe me, I HUNTED. I wanted to find it. Nothing. That, and there is no damage to either of the guys. You mean to tell me they wrestled 2 fighting dogs apart and didn't so much get a scratch on their hands? Really??

So after they break up this dog fight they boys put a leash on the stray and load her into the back of a pickup that won't start (HEY! Something else they could have been doing that day, fix your truck!).  Then they walk the dog a mile down the road then take it off into a wooded area.  Did you catch that? This dog that just attacked their dog allowed itself to be walked a mile down the road. If I was that dog and they interrupted me I do believe they would not have walked me anywhere cause I would have been very ticked off and trying to eat them. Just sayin.

They boys actually said they took her there to "take care of her." They then tie her to a tree. Tie her to a tree and start to stab her in the neck with a pocket knife. This, I am thinking hurt. Instead of lunging at them, instead of biting them, instead of defending itself this dog tries to run away. Police can see where she would run to the end of her nylon rope, then run the other way trying desperately to escape. Instead of escaping she managed to wrap herself around the tree allowing the boys to continue their attack. She got wrapped so tight she started to strangle herself and at some point the marks on the tree show she was somehow suspended head high. Again I want to remind everyone... dog did NOT eat these boys.

When they realized this knife was too small to truely damage her they cut her down, then LED her to a hole. LED her. As in, she was still on the rope and walking with them NOT EATING THEM. They put her in the hole and beat her with a cedar branch until she died.

Still with me? Now is the part where we get mad.

Police call this the worst case of animal abuse they have ever seen.

Let us go over their punishment.

They both have to go have their heads examined. They are calling it a mental health evaluation.

The 17 year old has to do 65 hours of community service. Wow. just. wow. A whole 65 hours. I really want to know how close this one was to having a birthday.

Tyler is going to do 60 days in jail. He is then going to have to get a job, doesn't say part time or full time, just a job. I am guessing however that it is part time because he has also been ordered to get his GED and you know, a full time job AND school would be just too much for one person to manage. Don't want to overwhelm him now.

The best part? He has to go to anger management courses. I must have missed the part where the dog made him mad. He might have been irritated by the fight he made up, but really I doubt he was mad. I am even going to go out on a limb on this one and say those two were probably having a good time hurting this dog. I would bet the brat was even smiling.

I want to know when our justice system is going to stop slapping these people on the wrist and start recognizing dangers to society BEFORE they kill people. In 60 days this guy will be walking around looking for his next challenge. Hide your toddlers people.
